Job Summary

Develops, administers, directs, and implements all nursing and related patient care activities for areas of accountability. Works in close collaboration with the nursing team and supporting departments to meet and support diverseanizational business initiatives/strategies. Responsibilities include but are not limited to standardization of systems, identification of efficiencies, financial oversight for nursing programs/services, integration of performance improvement strategies, support of strategic nursing business initiatives, processes andmunication plans which support nursing goal attainment while fostering patient, physician, and employee satisfaction. Works collaboratively with all hospital departments to operationalize nursing integration, service line development, and standardized nursing practice. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

Contributes to the development, and directs the implementation and improvement of care delivery models and services that supports the continuous enhancement of care delivery and patient/family, employee and provider satisfaction for area of responsibility.

Responsible for the provision of nursing services 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week at assigned facilities, covering shifts as needed but not on a routine scheduled basis. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Applies the values of the nursinganization and assurespliance of the nurse practice acts abiding by nurses' rights andpliance with regulatory and professional standards for area of responsibility.

Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality. This includes ensuringpliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire safety, emergency management, and infection prevention and control.

Fosters transparency, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accountability in all areas, which includes leading interactive departmental meetings and discussions, and maintaining close coordination with all departments to ensure continuity and collaboration of services

Enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing services administration, and the delivery of services. This includes implementing an effective, ongoing program to measure, assess, and improve the quality of nursing care delivered to patients. Optimizes resource allocation to support current and potential objectives and initiatives

Completes modifications, additions, and deletions to staffing plans to ensure reasonable hours and acceptable working conditions to provide optimal patient care coverage

Plans and coordinates with health system nursing and finance leadership, utilizing the management for planning the budget requirements for staff, performance of work, supplies, and equipment

Directs a multidisciplinary work force that provides clinicallypetent, efficient, andpassionate care and services in a professionally challenging environment.

Collaborates with laboratory leadership in the operational oversight and management of Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) services, including maintainingpetency to perform point-of-care laboratory duties in accordance withanizational policies, regulatory standards, and patient care needs.

Provides operational oversight of hospital dietary services in collaboration with Dietary Services, ensuring safe, timely, and patient-centered meal service inpliance withanizational standards, regulatory requirements, and patient care needs.

Experience Minimum Required

5 years of experience in ED care setting with demonstrated leadership skills. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Complete 90 hours of classroom instruction in food service supervision. Toplete within 1 year of hire. Knowledge of health care issues, Specialty certification preferred. trends, legalpliance and managed care with emphasis in allponents and nursing operations. Ability to foster collaborative partnerships in the development, implementation and administration of service and program delivery. RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS
