POSITION SUMMARY
The POD Lead - Fleet Operations is responsible for the end-to-end performance, profitability, and compliance of their assigned POD. This role serves as the primary operational leader and planning point of contact for the POD, driving revenue per truck, asset utilization, service performance, and driver retention. The POD Lead owns execution across planning, payroll accuracy, compliance oversight, maintenance routing, and driver performance management. This role provides leadership to POD support staff and is accountable for ensuring daily operational discipline, proactive problem resolution, and continuous performance improvement aligned with WEL's pillars of Safety, Service, Revenue, and Retention Job Details:

Monday thru Friday, rotating Saturdays and Holidays ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operational Leadership & Planning Ownership Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for POD and operational execution. Oversee all POD planning, pre-planning, and re-planning activities to optimize revenue per truck and utility. Ensure the daily hand-off communications are being done to ensure continuity across shifts. Manage phone queue coverage and escalation flow within the POD. Take ownership of driver escalations from POD support staff and ensure timely resolution. Performance & KPI Accountability Own POD KPIs including Revenue per Truck, Utility, On-Time Pickup, Trailer PM compliance (under 120%), and overall service metrics. Analyze operational data and reports to optimize driver schedules, fuel efficiency, and fleet performance. Monitor and track driver performance and address gaps through coaching and action planning. Improve asset utilization and eliminate inefficiencies impacting profitability. Maintain and review LTL scorecard performance metrics. Track NN Days and ensure corrective action plans are implemented as needed. Driver Management & Payroll Oversight Manage driver payroll and X-Pay processes for accuracy and timeliness. Ensure Requested Days Off (RDOs) and home time commitments are met. Provide ELD training and support when needed. Review PTAs for accuracy and compliance. Service Execution & Fleet Coordination Monitor fleet movement and proactively communicate late plans or service risks. Own resolution of Bubble List call-outs and ensure corrective planning actions. Coordinate swaps, recoveries, and service adjustments as necessary. Provide turn-by-turn routing support to drivers as needed. Maintain Situation Board accuracy and operational visibility. Conduct and ensure completion of check calls. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards. Oversee fuel compliance monitoring and corrective actions. Manage compliance-related tasks including registrations, IFTA renewals, random selections, and Luma eNuggets tracking. High School Diploma or equivalent; required Associate degree (Logistics, Business Management, or relatable field); preferred Experience:
3 plus years of experience in the transportation industry preferred AS400 experience; a plus Computer Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software products and Windows. Ability to learn and use proprietary software. Advanced keyboarding skills. Essential Skills:
