AKA:
Your Superpowers) Keep the Building Running Like a
Well-Oiled Machine:
Manage all aspects of building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed and repairs are completed efficiently. Maintain equipment logs, safety records, and vendor documentation. Lead & Empower the
Maintenance Team:
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise maintenance staff and housekeeping (if applicable). Provide ongoing coaching and support to create a responsive, safety-focused team. Promote a culture of ownership, pride in work, and high standards of cleanliness and care.
Ensure Safety & Compliance:
Oversee life safety systems, including fire alarms, generators, and emergency preparedness. Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Partner with community leadership to maintain readiness for surveys, audits, and emergency drills.
Support Resident Comfort & Satisfaction:
Ensure resident apartments and common areas are maintained to the highest standard. Respond promptly to maintenance requests with a service-first mindset. Help create a welcoming, functional, and safe environment that residents and families can count on.
Collaborate Across Departments:
Work closely with nursing, dining, housekeeping, and other departments to support facility needs. Participate in capital planning, budgeting, and vendor negotiations for facility projects. Assist with move-ins, renovations, and room turnovers as needed. What You Bring to the Table (Besides Your Toolbelt)
Education & Licensure:
High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or technical certification preferred. Valid driver's license required; HVAC, electrical, or other certifications a plus.
Experience & Leadership:
3-5 years of building maintenance experience, preferably in healthcare or senior living. Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Working knowledge of building systems, construction, maintenance procedures, and OSHA standards. Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills. Comfort using work order systems and technology for scheduling and tracking.
