We grow, pack, and distribute basil, cilantro, mint, parsley, rosemary, thyme, sage, dill, chives, oregano, tarragon, and specialty herbs while maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency. Position Summary As a Production Packer, you are an essential part of our fresh herb operation. This role is responsible for inspecting, portioning, weighing, and packaging fresh herbs according to customer specifications and company quality standards. Production Packers play a critical role in ensuring product quality, accuracy, consistency, and customer satisfaction. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProduct Packing and Inspection Portion and package fresh herbs into retail and foodservice containers, including clamshells, bags, bunches, and specialty packaging. Accurately weigh products using calibrated scales to ensure compliance with weight specifications. Identify and distinguish multiple herb varieties by appearance, aroma, and leaf structure. Inspect product quality throughout the packing process and remove any damaged, discolored, wilted, or otherwise non-conforming product. Verify that products meet customer and company quality standards before packaging. Check for excessive moisture, contamination, or other quality concerns prior to packing. Labeling and Specification Compliance Verify that labels, product codes, and packaging materials match the correct product and customer specifications. Follow customer-specific packaging requirements and work instructions. Ensure packaged products are properly sealed and prepared for labeling and case packing. Assist in maintaining accurate lot identification and product traceability throughout production. Quality and Operational Standards Follow established quality standards and operating procedures throughout the production process. Maintain proper separation of products, materials, and packaging as required. Report quality concerns, product defects, equipment issues, or operational problems to supervision immediately. Assist with minimizing product waste by following proper handling and packaging procedures. Rotate between workstations and production lines as assigned. Food Safety and Workplace Practices Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, hygiene standards, and company policies. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, hairnets, beard nets, smocks, and other required safety equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards. Support housekeeping and sanitation efforts throughout the facility. Teamwork and Culture Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals. Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and respect in all workplace interactions.
