As aProcurement Manager at RXO,you will handle transportation procurement functions, including developing new carrier sources, conducting bids, and selecting carriers. What your day-to-day will look like: Develop understanding of the customer and theirlogisticsneeds through customer calls, interaction with sales team, research, correspondence, etc. Help set strategy around mode buying andleveraging; develop key initiatives, bestpractices,and processes within the team Support the growth of new customers and the expansion of existing customers Work with Customer and Account Management teams to create solutions that meet service and cost levels Onboard carriers that expand service offerings such as international, temperature control, special equipment, etc. Determinecarrier rates and KPI's; analyze rates and make decisions on awards whileremainingcompliant with the overall sourcing strategy Prepare bid package for carriers, including cover letter, customer profile, freight profile, locations, photos, operational considerations, pricing requirements and targets, fuel table, and accessorial target costs Recommend cost-saving strategies that are beneficial to our customers as well asequitableto the carriers Analyze materials in the context of freight profile, customer's needs, and RXO's marketing strategy to develop pricing approach and type of proposal to be submitted Communicate end results of negotiations to internal audience for coordination and communication to customer At a minimum,you'llneed: Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience 5 years of experience in carrier procurement with an emphasis on carrier rate negotiations It'dbe great if you also have: In-depth knowledge of carrier operations Proven lane/rate negotiation skills Solidproficiencyin Microsoft Office (Excel and Access) Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to multitask Ability to interact and communicate well with all internal and external customers Does this sound like you?
