Purchasing Manager

Purchasing Manager St. Louis, MO Responsibilities Oversee a purchasing team consisting of two buyers. Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services. Select suppliers based on reliability, product quality, and cost efficiency. Monitor inventory levels and business requirements to determine purchase needs. Request cost proposals and negotiate contracts and prices. Prepare and process purchase orders. Maintain records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments. Schedule and verify purchase deliveries and expedite delayed orders. Build and maintain positive, long-term supplier relationships. Resolve issues related to shipments, inventory returns, replacements, and credit arrangements. Work independently within established procedures associated with the job function. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED required. Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred. Previous experience as a purchasing manager or purchasing agent. Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and inventory management software programs. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with large bill of materials (BOMs) of 1000+ items. Work Environment The position requires working 100% in-office with a schedule of four 10-hour days from 7 am to 5:30 pm, including a 30-minute lunch. The work involves managing large bills of materials (BOMs) with over 1000 items. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
