What You Will Do:
The Purchasing Manager is a key leader within Pratt & Whitney's Supply Chain organization, responsible for leading end-to-end procurement activities in support of manufacturing operations. This role integrates strategic sourcing, supplier management, and operational execution to ensure the uninterrupted, compliant, and cost-effective flow of both product and indirect materials. This role is critical to ensuring production continuity, supplier performance, and overall operational success at the site. The Purchasing Manager will directly influence delivery, cost, and quality outcomes while strengthening supplier relationships and driving supply chain performance in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include:
Procurement & Supplier Strategy Lead and develop a team of buyers Lead sourcing and procurement activities for direct (product) and indirect materials supporting site operations Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned to cost, quality, and delivery objectives Identify and qualify new suppliers Lead RFQs, negotiations, and contract execution (pricing, lead time, terms & conditions) Supplier Performance & Delivery Assurance Accountable for key metrics including on-time delivery (OTD), past due reduction, inventory health, quality performance, and supplier responsiveness Partner with suppliers to resolve delivery challenges, capacity constraints, and escalations Establish and manage delivery assurance plans aligned with production demand Operational Execution & Materials Flow Drive alignment between procurement execution and production schedules to ensure uninterrupted material flow Partner closely with Materials Planning and Materials Management to ensure alignment between supply and demand Support inventory optimization, shortage mitigation, and production continuity. Partner with shop floor and materials teams to proactively resolve constraints. Act as escalation point for material constraints impacting manufacturing Cross-Functional Leadership Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, EHS and Program teams to support operational objectives Drive alignment and decision-making across functions to resolve complex supply chain issues Support new product introduction (NPI), engineering changes, and production ramp activities Represent Supply Chain in site-level operational reviews and decision-making forums Cost & Continuous Improvement Drive cost reduction and value creation initiatives throughout strategic sourcing, negotiations and supply base optimization Leverage data and analytics to improve supplier performance and procurement efficiency Lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned to CORE operating system
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Business, Supply Chain or related field and 8 years of Operations, Planning, Supply Chain, Business or related experience; or an advanced degree with 5 years of experience U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote. The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
