~20 Volunteers; provides secondary supervision and support when the primary supervisor is unavailable
Salary Range:
Grade 7 ($28/hr - $31/hr)

Position Overview The Food Distribution Coordinator oversees the daily operations of DCP's food programs. This includes organizing weekly food distributions, managing volunteers, maintaining inventory, and submitting reports. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and enjoys engaging with both the community and volunteers in a fast-paced environment. Supervised by the Director of COVE. Minimum Qualifications 1-2 years' experience in a leadership role, program coordination or volunteer management Valid California driver's license and a driving record that meets the organization's insurance requirements Must maintain a clean and insurable driving record throughout employment. Experience working with diverse populations Strong communication and organizational skills Familiar with Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications (In Addition To Those Above) Bilingual in Spanish, Tagalog, Cantonese, or Mandarin Experience in food security or nonprofit programs Operational Responsibilities Act as the lead coordinator for the grocery rescue program and Project Dash, managing logistics, scheduling, and partner communication. Safely drive the organization's van to execute grocery rescue pickups and perform Project Dash home deliveries (up to twice a week). Coordinate daily operations for Project Dash and satellite site distributions. Serve as operational support to the main food distribution program as needed. Train and supervise volunteers, ensuring compliance with safety and civil rights protocols Maintain volunteer records, monitor performance, and foster an inclusive team environment Support clients during distribution and connect them to additional resources as needed Utilize digital platforms for communication, scheduling, and tracking volunteer engagement Ability to: Follow food safety and civil rights regulations De-escalate and resolve client concerns Keep confidentiality of client and volunteer information Be able to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally.
