Job Description

Gourmet Galley Catering is looking for a dependable, talented cook and strong team leader to help oversee food production for two important areas of our company: A daily state-supported meal program Our new line of healthy prepared foods for GG at Home This is a hands-on, full-time position for someone who enjoys working independently, takes ownership of their responsibilities and is comfortable managing a small team. In addition to preparing fresh, wholesome food, this person will manage the staff schedule for our state program and help ensure that daily production runs smoothly, efficiently and on time. Strong management, communication and interpersonal skills are essential. The menu will be varied and may include fresh salads, nutritious entrées, soups, grain bowls, wholesome snacks and other creative prepared items.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing healthy, flavorful food with consistency and attention to detail Managing daily production for the state-supported meal program Creating and maintaining the schedule for a small kitchen staff Providing clear direction and communicating effectively with team members Ensuring recipes, portions and program requirements are followed Maintaining high standards for food safety, sanitation and storage Organizing ingredients, inventory and daily production needs Producing prepared foods for GG at Home's new healthy product line What we're looking for: Professional cooking or food-production experience Previous leadership or supervisory experience Strong management and interpersonal skills The ability to work independently and make sound decisions Excellent organization and time-management skills A genuine interest in healthy, flavorful food Dependability, consistency and a strong work ethic A solid understanding of food safety and sanitation The ability to lead with both accountability and respect This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of a program, lead a small team and contribute creatively to a growing line of healthy prepared foods.
Position:
Full-time Pay:
