We are looking for an energetic, mature, well-organized individual who is passionate about enriching the lives of those with intellectual / developmental disabilities. This staff will develop and coordinate activities for adults with I/DD both within our day program facility and in the larger Greensboro community as well. This staff is also responsible for scheduling and ensuring all shifts are filled within the day program and two small group homes. This position is for the day program, which is open 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday- Friday. On-call is required once a month. We will help prospective applicants obtain required training. Must have specific trainings (CPR, First Aid, NCI, Med. Admin., etc.) which will be provided when hired.
Essential Duties:
Plans daily group activities at the day program and delegates staff roles accordingly Plan monthly outings and place them, along with appointments, meetings, etc. on a monthly calendar made available to all staff and individuals served. Plan special events (parties, etc.) Assist in securing volunteer opportunities for those individuals interested Plan the best utilization of space indoors and outdoors (activity centers, individual and group space, picnic areas, garden areas, etc.) Ensure every shift is covered Communicate effectively with guardians Oversee transportation to/from the day program Pay rate between $18 - $21 per hour.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
: Previous experiencing working with individuals with IDD Valid Driver's License (Required), Along with Reliable Transportation to Job (Punctuality Required) High school diploma or equivalent required (GED) Ability to manage the goals of multiple individuals and families on a timely basis Complete and maintain current trainings Ability to pass Background Check/Healthcare Registry Check. The ability to attend monthly mandatory staff meetings/ training sessions when scheduled
