Job Summary The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Program Coordinator plays a vital role in empowering and supporting grandparents who are the primary caregivers for their grandchildren. This position involves coordinating community outreach, managing engagement programs, and facilitating access to resources tailored to the unique needs of these families. The coordinator will serve as a compassionate leader, fostering community connections, managing program operations, and ensuring that participants receive comprehensive support through effective communication and resource management. Responsibilities Ensure program participants receive a combination of Counseling, Case Management, and/or Child Respite Services. Conduct assessments and reassessments to determine eligibility. Coordinate and facilitate monthly GRG Support Groups. Manage database systems such as Salesforce and Raiser's Edge to track participant information, volunteer hours, and program outcomes with accuracy and confidentiality. Organize community engagement initiatives or coordinate activities including workshops, support groups, and informational sessions tailored to grandparents raising grandchildren from diverse cultural backgrounds. Collaborate with community partners, social service agencies, and stakeholders to enhance resource accessibility for program participants. Supervise volunteers, providing leadership in project planning, team management, and performance evaluations. Deliver public speaking engagements at community events to raise awareness about the program's mission and services. Ensure excellent customer service by addressing participant inquiries promptly and compassionately while maintaining professional communication standards. Skills Strong background in volunteer coordination, management, and engagement programs. Excellent written communication skills for creating outreach materials, reports, and correspondence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and presentations. Experience in community engagement with culturally diverse populations; bilingual ability preferred (Spanish). Demonstrated leadership in supervising teams of staff or volunteers within social work or community programs. Project management expertise with the ability to organize multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Exceptional organizational skills combined with the ability to manage databases efficiently for accurate recordkeeping. Strong interpersonal skills for working collaboratively with community partners, stakeholders, and families. Knowledge of social media platforms for outreach purposes; experience in social media management is preferred. Background in social work or related fields that support understanding of family dynamics within diverse communities. Community Health Worker or Community Support Worker Certification a plus. Associate's Degree in Counseling, Social Work or related profession. Qualifications Associate's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related profession 1 or more years providing direct services to target population. Demonstrate passion for serving vulnerable/underserved populations, children and families. Effective written and oral communication skills.
