PROGRAM COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Teachers, Assistant Teachers, Substitutes Position Overview:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all classrooms provide developmentally appropriate programming and maintains all required licensing standards and guidelines. This person is responsible for working cooperatively with the center's Administrative staff in supporting the daily programming and operations of the center.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Education preferred or anAssociate Degree in Early Childhood Education and a plan of study in place working towards a Bachelor's Degree. At least 3 years of classroom experience. Some supervisory experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities:
Responsible to understand, reference and adhere to day care regulations and the center personnel policies. Assists Director and Administrative Assistant in assuming program responsibilities as delegated. Is thoroughly knowledgeable of
NYS OCFS
regulations and consistently observes in all classrooms to be sure programming, the environment and paperwork is in regulatory compliance. Attends all staff meetings and training sessions, and maintains and organizes the mandated number of training hours for all employees of the center for licensing review. Conducts classroom visits, as frequently as individual classroom functioning requires, for the purpose of observing classroom activities and providing on-site consultation teaching staff. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the program. Conducts personnel evaluations and appraisals annually as required. Assists teaching staff in setting goals and completing action steps toward clearly state outcomes. Strong organizational skills are necessary. Advanced expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel. Caring for young children that requires the Program Coordinator be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and sit on floor and also lifting up to 40 pounds.
