Job Description
About the Program The Youth Leadership Project is a mentoring and life-skills program for young adults ages 14-26 who are differently-abled. The program promotes socialization, leadership, advocacy, work readiness, independence, and community engagement. Position Overview We are seeking a passionate, organized, and self-directed Youth Program Manager to oversee and lead all aspects of the Youth Leadership Project. This individual will be responsible for participant and mentor recruitment, program planning, session facilitation, community outreach, and ongoing program development. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of recruitment, program operations, community outreach, and direct service delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee all aspects of the Youth Leadership Project Develop and maintain program plans, calendars, and activity schedules Recruit, onboard, and retain youth participants and volunteer mentors Lead all program sessions and coordinate logistics for activities and events Develop engaging curriculum focused on leadership, life skills, socialization, and independence Maintain participant records, attendance, and program documentation Serve as the primary point of contact for families, mentors, and community partners Build partnerships with schools, agencies, and community organizations Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements Ensure participant safety and compliance with organizational policies Qualifications Experience working with youth or young adults ((experience with differently-abled individuals preferred) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of a program Organized, reliable, and self-motivated Background in education, social work, psychology, recreation, or related field preferred Passion for mentoring and community-based programming Compensation $28-$32 per hour, based on experience (target rate approximately $30/hour).
