THE POSITION

As a Roadway Programs Coordinator with the Department of Transportation, you help make sure county maintenance plans stay organized, efficient, and ready for action. This position gives you the chance to support safe travel for residents while growing your planning and leadership skills. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position oversees a wide range of administrative and technical activities that support roadway maintenance and county operations. It ensures planning, budgeting, materials management, and program oversight work together to keep operations efficient. As a Roadway Programs Coordinator, you will perform the following duties:
Program Coordination:
Coordinate roadway maintenance programs and assist in developing the Annual Work Plan
Budget Management:
Manage county budgets, prepare reviews, and recommend budget adjustments to support operations
Material Planning:
Determine material needs, monitor inventories, and oversee ordering of essential maintenance supplies
Work Review:
Review schedules, reports, and planning documents to adjust work plans based on conditions and priorities
Safety Oversight:
Ensure proper work zone setups and support safe work environments through monitoring and guidance
Staff Supervision:
Manage workload distribution and handle the direction of staff, training, evaluations, and concerns Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as a Roadway Programs Specialist or Roadway Programs Technician Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Three years of experience in the analysis, development, and implementation of methods and techniques used in a roadway maintenance management system; and an associate's degree in a field of business administration, computer science, highway engineering technology or closely related program; or
One year of experience in the analysis, development, and implementation of methods and techniques used in a roadway maintenance management system; and a bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or civil engineering related discipline; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
