Job Description

Position Details Part-Time | Hybrid (Local - remote with occasional in-person meetings in King of Prussia, PA) Reports to: Director of Programs Position Overview RSVP Volunteers is seeking a community-minded, organized, and self-motivated professional to coordinate and grow the PA MEDI (Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight) program in Montgomery County. This position leads the recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, and support of volunteer Medicare counselors while helping ensure older adults have access to accurate, unbiased Medicare information and counseling services. The PA MEDI Coordinator provides Medicare counseling, develops community partnerships, conducts outreach and educational presentations, and serves as the local liaison to the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. The position is responsible for program administration, reporting, volunteer management, consumer assistance, and ensuring compliance with PA MEDI, RSVP, and state program requirements while expanding awareness and access to services throughout Montgomery County. Key Responsibilities Volunteer Coordination and Engagement Recruit, screen, train, schedule, and supervise PA MEDI counselors. Provide ongoing coaching, support and technical guidance to volunteers. Monitor counselor performance and activities and ensure training requirements are maintained. Coordinate volunteer communications, organize volunteer meetings, recognition and engagement activities. Medicare Counseling and Subject Matter Expert Obtain and maintain PA MEDI counselor certification through state trainings and conferences. Provide Medicare, Medicaid, prescription assistance and related benefits counseling to Medicare beneficiaries. Assist beneficiaries in understanding coverage options and available programs. Communications Refer consumers to appropriate aging and community resources when necessary. Community Outreach and Program Development Build partnerships with community organizations, senior centers, and other partners. Promote PA MEDI services through presentations, educational events, and outreach activities. Expand awareness and referrals throughout Montgomery County. Program Administration and Compliance Ensure program operations comply with Pennsylvania Department of Aging, PA MEDI, SHIP, RSVP, and agency requirements. Review counselor reports and program activity data for accuracy and quality. Prepare and submit required reports and documentation. Serve as the primary liaison with regional and state PA MEDI staff. Address program concerns, complaints, and quality improvement activities as needed. Maintain confidentiality of beneficiary and volunteer information. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Experience coordinating programs, volunteers, customer service activities, or community-based services. Ability to learn and interpret Medicare and related benefit programs. Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database/reporting systems. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Montgomery County for meetings, outreach events, and counseling activities. Candidates must be eligible to participate in the PA MEDI program and may not possess an active insurance license due to PA MEDI conflict of interest requirements.
