Job Summary Love working with kids, building cool things, and connecting with people? This could be the perfect role for you! Snapology of Glen Allen is looking for an energetic, creative, and community-minded STEAM Instructor & Community Engagement Coordinator to help us inspire the next generation of innovators. In this fun, hands-on role, you'll lead engaging STEAM, engineering, LEGO®-based building and robotics activities for children while also helping Snapology connect with families, schools, and community organizations throughout the Glen Allen area. Snapology programs are conducted for children ages 3-14. This role combines hands-on instruction in the classroom in preschools and schools with community outreach, empowering kids to explore creative ideas and develop critical skills making a meaningful impact on kids. The role would also entail facilitating exciting theme-based and robotics birthday parties. Duties Lead engaging and interactive STEAM classes and activities for learners across various age groups during scheduled programs and workshops including school classes and camps Maintain a safe and inclusive environment conducive to active learning and exploration Support community outreach initiatives by promoting programs through local partnerships and community events Collaborate with team members to plan special events, exhibitions, and demonstrations that showcase Snapology offerings Qualifications Strong enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics education Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences Creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability in dynamic settings First Aid, CPR training, Criminal and Child Clearances is required 1 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment University experience or current enrollment in relevant fields such as education or STEAM discipline Organized with attention to detail to manage multiple activities effectively
Adaptive:
Flexible and open to evolving situations and projects. Own a car/insurance and valid drivers license to be able to travel to different partner locations for classes Must be able to bring materials back and forth to classes when needed and must be able to lift 30+ pounds at a time If you're passionate about inspiring others through STEAM education and eager to make a positive difference in your community, we encourage you to apply!
