7 Norfolk, VA Job Details Full-time 3 hours ago Qualifications Working with individuals with disabilities High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Sentara Health is looking to hire a Remote Housing Support Specialist. Candidates must reside in Charlottesville and/or surrounding areas as traveling in the field is required. This job provides support to members with housing insecurity or who are experiencing homelessness, or who are returning to the community after a nursing home stay, to find and secure appropriate housing. Work involves property visits and community networking to maintain a thorough knowledge of housing and supportive resources. The Housing Services Specialist educates members about housing options to include Housing Choice Vouchers and low-income housing and provides referrals to suitable properties. This position collaborates with other housing specialists, social workers, and case managers, and carries a caseload of members in the Western region of the state.
Education:
High School Diploma (required)
Experience:
1
  • 3 years' experience in community outreach or customer service (required) 1
  • 3 years' experience in assisting older adults, the elderly, and persons with disabilities to secure accessible, affordable housing (required) 1
  • 3 years' experience working with low-income housing providers to develop accessible and affordable housing for older adults, elderly, and persons with disabilities (required) Healthcare experience (preferred)
