Job Description

Summary:
Blackburn seeks a Sr. Project Manager to manage moderate to complex engineering geology and forensics projects. This person will work under the CEO and senior firm leadership. This candidate should have 20+ years of experience performing engineering geology services on water, flood control, and transportation related projects. This position requires some travel to project related sites, project management, cost negotiation, client and public relations, and internal staff management on a project basis.

Blackburn provides civil, geotechnical, geo-environmental, construction, and forensics engineering services throughout California with offices in Auburn, West Sacramento, Escondido, Sausalito, and Fresno. We have an extensive geotechnical and materials testing lab in West Sacramento, CA and additional lab capabilities in Sausalito, Fresno, and Escondido. We focus mostly on public works including flood control and transportation. Blackburn has been in business since 1998 and is employee-owned and operated.
Technical Duties:
Work on moderate to complex projects requiring independent study and responsible judgment Review and edit reports and calculations Manage budgets and schedules Conduct impactful meetings Know industry standards Historical and analytical project research Data gathering, organization, analysis, and results evaluation Conduct and write geotechnical reports and other written communication Interpret plans and specifications
Leadership and Managerial Duties:
Continuously develop your leadership and managerial skills Communicate with clients, team members, and contractors Understand project scopes and Blackburn's services Understand and review contracts Understand and manage risk Win target work Manage employees on your projects Identify and resolve project issues, including changes to scope Review and assign project tasks while following deadlines and budgets
Essential Abilities:
Communicate regularly with staff, clients, partners and subs Handle multiple projects Deliver high-quality projects in a timely manner Edit and write thorough, cohesive reports in the active voice Work well with many personality types
Self-starter Technical Qualifications:
Professional Engineer or Geologist license (PE or PG) CEG License 20+ years of relevant experience Valid driver's license Computer Savvy (Windows based systems)
Physical Requirements:
