Job Description

job summary: Project Manager opportunity with our heavy civil construction client in Wilmington, DE to oversee projects ranging from $500K to $15 million. This role requires a professional who can manage the full project lifecycle and also understands and can communicate the financial impact of scope changes to both the field and the client. Any estimating skills are a plus. Along with a solid benefits package, our client provides a weekly car allowance and mileage reimbursement. This position is bonus eligible. Candidates will ideally have a college degree or extensive field experience, with approximatey 3 to 5 or more years in heavy civil construction.

Comprehensive Project Oversight:
Manage heavy civil contracts award through closeout, spending 50% of your time in the office and 50% in the field to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Financial & Scope Management:
Direct project budgeting, tracking, and reporting while proactively managing change orders, rework, and scope changes to maintain profitability for both the client and the company.
Collaborative Communication:
Serve as a key liaison by clearly articulating cost impacts and technical data to field teams and clients, utilizing demonstrated interpersonal skills to build lasting professional relationships.
Operational Coordination:
Partner with operations staff and project superintendents to determine construction methods and staffing needs, while working with safety leadership to ensure full compliance with safety programs.
Administrative Leadership:
Lead pre-construction meetings and manage all essential project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and monthly over/under billing in coordination with the accounting department.
