Project Manager - Underground Utilities Schrader Excavating & Grading Co. is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Underground Utilities to oversee and coordinate underground utility construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This position is responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, contracts, documentation, materials, subcontractors, and communication with owners, general contractors, engineers, inspectors, and field leadership. The Project Manager will work closely with foremen and company leadership to ensure projects remain organized, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project requirements. Responsibilities Manage underground utility projects from preconstruction through completion Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and scope of work Coordinate project requirements with foremen, field leadership, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, engineers, and general contractors Track project budgets, costs, quantities, production, and financial performance Review job cost reports and identify potential cost or schedule concerns Prepare, track, and manage change orders Coordinate submittals, RFIs, purchase orders, and project documentation Manage material procurement and coordinate deliveries with project schedules Attend project meetings and provide updates regarding schedule, costs, progress, and project needs Identify potential project conflicts, delays, scope changes, and contractual issues Maintain accurate and organized project records Review field progress and work with foremen to address project needs or challenges Assist with project forecasting and closeout documentation Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, contract requirements, and quality standards Support company safety expectations and ensure project requirements are communicated to field leadership Maintain professional communication with customers, owners, general contractors, engineers, and other project stakeholders Qualifications Prior project management experience in underground utilities, heavy civil construction, excavation, or a related construction field Strong understanding of underground utility construction, including water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and related site work Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, contracts, grades, and elevations Experience with construction scheduling, budgeting, job costing, change orders, and project documentation Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Strong attention to detail and follow-through Ability to communicate effectively with both field personnel and project stakeholders Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Full-time employment Benefits package Company vehicle based on position requirements Stable employment with an established local contractor Opportunity to work directly with company leadership Responsibility for managing underground utility projects from planning through completion If you are an experienced construction project manager with a strong background in underground utilities and the ability to keep projects organized, on schedule, and financially on track, we encourage you to apply.
