We are seeking a Project Manager Intern (Engineering) based in Elgin, IL (Northwest of Chicago) to drive new product development projects from concept through the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases alongside our Project Managers. HARTING's Intern Development Program (Summer 2027) consists of full-time, paid, and on-site internships. Our internships are an opportunity to work on hands-on projects with your team, to work cross-functionally with other departments, and gain exposure to the technical aspects of our company.
Please note:
we do not provide housing in Illinois. For technical intern roles, pay ranges from $22-25 per hour, commensurate with student's class standing and experience. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to the following: Actively participate in gaining understanding of our product line of industrial-grade electrical connectors (their specifications, recommended applications, current and potential customer base) and how customer choices with components impact subsequent customized cable assembly product projects. Document detailed project plans including goals, key deliverables, resources, timelines required to achieve success, and risk mitigation plans for new product development initiatives. Shadow methods for managing priorities, resource allocation, risk management, budget management, and improvement in processes. Assist in the resolution of conflicts and bottlenecks within projects or functional areas. Prepare reports and track KPIs for the steering committee and management. Establish a trusted partner relationship with internal and external customers, internal team, and other project stakeholders. Build alignment and lead collaboration with other departments including: Sales, Customer Service, Custom Solutions, Product Management and Production Management.
