The Assistant Project Manager is primarily responsible for aiding the project staff, in the preconstruction and construction stages of a project. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with the daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of the project(s). They must reach time and cost objectives with respect to contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and contract administrative functions. Key Responsibilities Assist with preparation of purchase orders, change orders, contracts, bid packages, bid tabulations, and project schedules. Interpret design documents and help resolve conflicts, interferences, and errors/omissions. Monitor field and contract work to ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, safety requirements, and codes. Maintain accurate as-built drawings, project documentation, RFIs, submittals, correspondence, and expediting logs using project management systems such as Procore. Review shop drawings, samples, catalog data, and subcontractor submissions for compliance with project plans and specifications. Coordinate project meetings with owners, contractors, architects, and engineers. Assist with logistics planning, material handling, storage coordination, and site operations documentation. Support quality control procedures, inspections, testing equipment management, and change request preparation. Track contractor safety documentation, including certifications, SDS sheets, permits, and daily work permits. Distribute updated drawings/specifications and ensure field teams maintain current project documents. Coordinate project closeout activities, including warranties, lien releases, O&M manuals, as-builts, final pay applications, and owner training. Maintain working knowledge of all project plans, contracts, subcontracts, schedules, and related documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred or 3-5 years of related construction/project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience supporting commercial construction projects and working with contractors, subcontractors, and field operations. Strong understanding of project scheduling, document control, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and construction administration. Familiarity with permits, punch lists, certificates of occupancy, and project closeout processes. Proficiency with project management software preferred.
