Job Description

Job Title:
Project Manager Job Description This role manages all aspects of project execution from receipt of order through completion. The Project Manager works closely with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract specifications, while consistently exceeding customer expectations. Responsibilities + Track and report weekly on project performance, including percent complete, budget burn, earned value, schedule slippage, project effort, and duration to complete, along with other key project metrics. + Present and explain project status during weekly coordination meetings with other departments. + Coordinate with Safety, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams based on project requirements, timelines, and budget. + Collaborate with external contractors when needed in addition to internal resources. + Determine project resource requirements, including staffing, software, hardware, and facilities, based on project specifications. + Act as the primary day-to-day point of contact for the customer throughout the project lifecycle. + Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and strengthen customer relationships. + Manage customer expectations and communicate effectively to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions. + Manage the project budget, including understanding basic revenue models, profit and loss, and cost-to-completion projections, and make decisions accordingly. + Analyze and accurately forecast project revenue, profitability, and utilization. + Ensure all project legal and required documents are completed, executed, and properly maintained. + Manage the commercial and technical aspects of project contracts and customer specifications. + Protect confidential and proprietary project information. + Establish and maintain a clear, usable, and well-communicated schedule for all phases of the project. + Explain the implications of changes to project scope and objectives to both the customer and the project team. + Create or participate in the creation of project documentation and manage it throughout the project lifecycle. + Perform site and customer visits as required, often accompanied by a Construction Manager, Engineering staff, or a senior Project Manager. + Manage scope changes through customer change orders, internal change orders, phased delivery, or other methods to ensure projects meet timeline, scope, budget, and strategic expectations. + Obtain formal sign-off on all project deliverables from the appropriate stakeholders. + Ensure each project meets internal and customer expectations for safety, quality, budget, and delivery. + Identify, track, manage, and mitigate project risks, escalating issues when necessary to minimize impact on quality, budget, and schedule. + Develop contingency plans and implement revised project schedules, scopes, or budgets when project control is at risk. + Create customized project reports for management review when needed. + Work directly with customers to secure sign-off on deliverables and project documentation. + Use sound judgment in all project communications and ensure key stakeholders, including customers and internal leadership, receive timely updates. + Communicate progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones, and other key project metrics to customers and management. Essential Skills + Zero to five years of experience in project management or a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. + Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse stakeholders. + Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and documentation. + Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office. + Experience using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera Project Management for scheduling and project planning. + Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. + Ability to manage project budgets and understand basic revenue models, profit and loss, and cost-to-completion projections. + Ability to maximize project profitability while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction. + Ability to build and maintain relationships that support repeat and future work. + Project management experience within construction or construction management environments. + Experience coordinating across Safety, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction functions. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related technical field. + Experience in technical or engineering product applications. + Experience working with contract and commercial terms in a project environment. + Experience managing construction projects or working in construction management. + Familiarity with earned value management and other project performance metrics. + Experience collaborating with external contractors as part of project delivery. + Ability to create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reporting. + Experience acting as a single point of contact for customers on complex projects. + Experience with project risk identification, tracking, and mitigation. Work Environment This is a full-time, office-based role with core hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position is located in a modern, newly built office environment, designed to provide a comfortable and professional workspace. The role involves regular interaction with cross-functional teams and may include occasional site or customer visits. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Shawnee, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $80000.00/yr. ESOP and profit sharing benefits. Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Shawnee,KS.
