Role Summary The Schedule Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing, and communicating the project master schedule to support successful delivery of a complex, mission-critical data center project. Working closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Project Planner, Lead Superintendent, Site Planner, MEP teams, subcontractors, and project leadership, the Schedule Manager manages the CPM schedule, monitors critical-path activities, evaluates progress, identifies schedule risks, and supports recovery planning when required. The role provides project leadership with accurate and timely schedule information needed to make informed execution decisions. Key Responsibilities Master Schedule Development Develop and maintain the detailed project baseline schedule Establish appropriate work breakdown structures, activity sequencing, logic, durations, milestones, and interfaces Incorporate design, procurement, construction, MEP, commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities into the schedule Coordinate schedule development with project leadership and key stakeholders Ensure schedule activities accurately reflect the project execution strategy Schedule Updates & Progress Perform regular schedule updates using verified project-progress information Coordinate progress inputs with field teams, subcontractors, procurement, MEP, and commissioning teams Monitor actual progress against baseline and current schedules Identify slippage, emerging schedule concerns, and changes to forecasted completion dates Maintain accurate schedule records and update narratives Critical Path & Schedule Analysis Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis Monitor critical and near-critical activities Identify schedule risks, constraints, and potential milestone impacts Analyze sequencing and interface risks between trades, systems, and project phases Provide clear schedule analysis and recommendations to project leadership Recovery & Mitigation Planning Develop schedule recovery options where activities or milestones are at risk Support resequencing, acceleration, and mitigation planning Model schedule scenarios to help project leadership evaluate execution options Track recovery actions and evaluate their effectiveness Support development of revised or recovery schedules where required Project & Subcontractor Coordination Coordinate with the Site Planner to align the master schedule with short-interval and look-ahead planning Review subcontractor schedules and progress information Assess subcontractor schedule performance against contractual and project requirements Participate in schedule and project-controls meetings Support project leadership in communicating schedule expectations to subcontractors and stakeholders Reporting Prepare weekly and monthly schedule reports Develop milestone reports, progress curves, look-ahead information, schedule narratives, and other project-control outputs Clearly communicate changes to critical path and milestone forecasts Provide schedule information for internal and client reporting Maintain appropriate historical records supporting schedule decisions and changes Qualifications & Experience Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, Construction Engineering, or a related field Strong experience developing and managing schedules for large-scale construction projects Demonstrated experience with Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 Experience with baseline development, schedule updating, critical-path analysis, recovery planning, and progress reporting Strong understanding of construction sequencing, procurement, MEP installation, testing, and project turnover Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate complex schedule information clearly to field and management teams Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project-controls reporting tools Experience working within EPC or General Contractor environments is preferred Data center, mission-critical, industrial, or major commercial construction experience is strongly preferred What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and able to understand both the technical mechanics of a CPM schedule and the realities of construction execution.
