Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled MEP Project Manager to lead and oversee complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure projects from inception to completion. This role is vital in ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in strict compliance with safety standards and construction regulations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership abilities, extensive construction management experience, and a deep understanding of MEP systems, with a passion for driving project success through meticulous planning, coordination, and team management. Duties Manage MEP/FP projects from preconstruction through completion, overseeing estimating, engineering, procurement, field operations, subcontractors, commissioning, and closeout. Lead overall project execution to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents, specifications, codes, and quality standards. Develop and implement project execution plans establishing project objectives, responsibilities, milestones, procurement requirements, risk controls, and communication protocols. Develop and maintain the master project schedule, incorporating design deliverables, procurement, equipment lead times, fabrication, subcontractor activities, installation sequencing, inspections, commissioning, and project constraints. Monitor project progress and schedule performance, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, delays, and impacts to critical activities. Manage procurement of major equipment, materials, and subcontracted services, including lead times, purchasing, fabrication, and delivery requirements. Manage MEP subcontractors and trade partners, including bid reviews, scope development, contract requirements, performance, coordination, and compliance. Develop and manage detailed scopes of work for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection trades, ensuring clear responsibility and minimizing scope gaps and overlaps. Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project requirements to identify contractual obligations, constructability concerns, design deficiencies, code issues, and potential cost or schedule impacts. Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain alignment with project objectives. Lead project and MEP coordination meetings, tracking decisions, action items, design issues, schedule impacts, and required follow-up. Manage change orders and commercial issues, including pricing, negotiation, approval, documentation, and incorporation into project budgets and schedules. Review subcontractor invoices and payment applications and ensure timely, accurate owner billing and project cash flow. Establish and enforce project quality and safety requirements, ensuring compliance with company policies, contract requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards. Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and closeout activities, ensuring MEP systems meet project requirements and are properly documented and turned over. Manage project logistics, including site access, material deliveries, equipment staging, phasing, shutdowns, mock-ups, inspections, and coordination with external agencies. Work closely with field leadership to align project planning with field execution, installation sequencing, manpower, productivity, and site conditions. Maintain accurate project records, including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, schedules, procurement logs, change orders, cost reports, correspondence, and other project documentation. Lead project closeout by coordinating punch-list completion, final inspections, commissioning documentation, as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, and turnover requirements. and operational challenges to maintain productivity and project objectives. Travel and overtime work will be required. Requirements Associates/Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent or relevant experience a plus but not a requirement. 10-15 years of experience in Mechanical/Electrical or General contracting / construction management, experience in various aspects of construction (estimating, bidding, preparing and administering contracts, scheduling, cost control, etc.) is a plus. Experienced in managing staff, vendors and contractors. Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office, BIM, CAD, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. is required Experience with other computer software (AutoCAD, Microsoft Projects, Prolog (or other project management software packages) P3 or P6, Timberline, etc.) is preferred but not required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications. Hands-on experience with construction site supervision, safety standards compliance, and regulatory requirements.
