Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead and oversee complex construction projects from inception to completion representing Barr & Barr as the primary contact for the Owner-Architect-Builder team. This role is vital in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Coordinate project activities across office and field teams, including estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, and construction. Develop, maintain, and monitor the master project schedule, including procurement, material lead times, field coordination, owner/architect directives, delays, and site conditions. Build and maintain effective relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams through regular communication and project updates. Lead project meetings to review progress, budget, schedule, risks, and required decisions. Keep clients and management informed of project budget, schedule, financial status, and owner-architect coordination. Serve as a key point of contact for owner and architect questions, guidance, and issue resolution. Prepare project-specific contract requirements and subcontractor agreement provisions using established templates. Develop trade scopes of work, coordinate responsibilities, resolve overlaps or gaps, and support subcontractor review with estimating. Manage project logistics, including phasing, outside agency coordination, mock-up requirements, and alignment with field staff, owner, and architect. Review drawings and specifications for design issues, code concerns, constructability challenges, and required architect follow-up. Ensure project team members understand applicable contract, subcontract, administrative, and compliance requirements. Establish and monitor project administrative procedures in alignment with company policies and standards. Ensure compliance with insurance, bonding, safety, labor relations, Equal Employment Opportunity, tax, and other project requirements. Oversee owner payment applications, timely receipt of payments, and proper fund disbursement. Report regularly to company management on project progress, budget, schedule, risks, financial performance, and stakeholder relationships. Maintain quality control and safety programs throughout the project lifecycle. Travel and overtime work will be required Education and Experience Associates/Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent or relevant experience a plus but not a requirement. 10-15 years of experience in General contracting / construction management, experience in various aspects of construction (estimating, bidding, preparing and administering contracts, scheduling, cost control, etc.) is a plus. Experienced in managing staff, vendors and contractors. Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. is required Experience with other computer software (AutoCAD, Microsoft Projects, Prolog (or other project management software packages) P3 or P6, Timberline, etc.) is preferred but not required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
Physical Requirements:
The employee may occasionally be required to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work may be performed in both office and construction site environments and may require exposure to varying weather conditions, noise levels, dust, and other typical construction-related conditions. Travel to project sites, client meetings, and company offices may be required.
