Job Title:
Bridge Design Project Manager Job Description We are seeking a Bridge Design Project Manager with a robust background in structural and civil engineering. This role involves leading bridge and culvert design projects, ensuring compliance with MDOT or MDOT Local Agency procedures. Projects typically include rehabilitation or replacement of bridges and culverts over waterways or roadways, and occasionally involve pedestrian bridges or specialty structures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and team leadership skills, providing mentorship to team members, coordinating with client representatives, and facilitating meetings. The manager will ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget. Responsibilities Manage a team of structural engineers and technicians. Oversee project development and scheduling. Perform condition assessments to determine scope and estimated costs. Design and develop contract documents, including plans, technical specifications, reports, and cost estimates. Mentor team members and guide them through the design process. Generate and manage detailed markups with CAD Technicians to finalize drawings. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and utility companies. Seal and sign project documents. Review and approve construction documents such as shop drawings, RFIs, and Change Orders. Interface with clients during and after projects to ensure satisfaction and secure future work. Assist in developing proposals and budgets. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. Minimum of 7 years of experience in Bridge Design. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Proficiency in CAD and structural analysis software. Familiarity with MDOT design manuals, specifications, and procedures. Experience in analysis, inspection, scoping, and contract document delivery. Strong design technique skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in Load Rating and Capacity analysis. Skills in Civil 3D, ORD, Risa 3D, LEAP bridge. Knowledge of Sewer/Water/Storm Computational Methods. Trenchless Design expertise. Proficiency in MicroStation and/or Civil 3D. Project Management experience. Work Environment The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with some flexibility. After an initial training period of 30-90 days, one day of remote work per week is offered. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Bloomfield Hills, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $145000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
