Job Description About the projectOur client, a leading global technology company, is building a multi-gigawatt hyperscale data center campus near Cheyenne, Wyoming. The program includes four large-scale data halls plus supporting office, logistics and network buildings, delivered in phases over several years. You'll join the owner's-side team early, while the program's processes are still being built.
The roleYou'll be the client's eyes on site. You stay close to progress, risk and cost, raise issues early, and keep client leadership informed. You partner with the general contractor and project partners rather than running their work. We're hiring at multiple levels, from experienced project managers to senior program leads, and scope will match experience.
What you'll doRepresent the owner day to day with the general contractor, design team and project partners.
Monitor schedule, cost, quality and safety performance, and flag risks and trends early.
Prepare and lead owner-side reporting: progress updates, look-aheads, risk registers and decision logs.
Coordinate change management, submittals and RFIs from the owner's side.
Track critical path items such as utility power, long-lead equipment and commissioning handover.
Work closely with owner-side cost and scheduling leads.
Help build the governance, processes and reporting cadence the program will run on.
Skills and Requirements Required:
10+ years of construction project management, with a track record of leading large, complex projects from design through closeout.
Required:
at least 3 years of hands-on data center construction experience.
Required:
ability to work onsite in Cheyenne 4 days per week. Relocation to the area is expected.
Proven ownership of projects at scale, in the hundreds of millions and up.
Strong grasp of MEP-heavy delivery, commissioning and turnover.
Experience managing contracts, change orders, schedules and budgets end to end.
Clear communication with senior stakeholders, and a collaborative style with contractors.
Owner's-rep, owner-side or hyperscale experience is a plus.
PMP, PE or similar is a plus.
Hyperscale scale: experience on campuses of 100 MW or more, or multi-building programs.
Owner-side work: owner-side or owner's-rep experience for a hyperscaler, colocation provider or data center developer.
Power:
substations, utility interconnects, medium-voltage distribution, or on-site power generation.
Cooling:
liquid cooling, chilled water plants, or high-density white space fit-out.
Commissioning:
Level 1 through 5 commissioning and integrated systems testing.
Greenfield sites: mobilizing a new site from early works through vertical construction.
Design phase: design management through 30/60/90 reviews to issued-for-construction drawings.
Delivery models: GMP, CM at risk and design-build contracts.
Tools:
Procore, e-Builder, Unifier, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, Primavera P6.
Certifications:
PMP, PE, CCM, DBIA or similar.
Education:
a degree in Construction Management or Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
