Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Assistant Property Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a residential multifamily community. This is a part-time, on-site position supporting an affordable housing community with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Section 8 programs. The Assistant Property Manager will assist with leasing, resident relations, affordable housing compliance, office administration, maintenance coordination, and overall property operations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, professional, and comfortable working with residents while maintaining a strong understanding of housing regulations and company policies. Key Responsibilities Assist with all aspects of leasing, including applications, tenant screening, lease execution, renewals, and move-ins/move-outs. Process and maintain resident files and compliance documentation in accordance with LIHTC, Section 8, Fair Housing, and other applicable requirements. Utilize Yardi, RentCafe, and Blue Moon to manage leasing activities, resident records, and required documentation. Respond promptly and professionally to resident questions, concerns, and requests by phone, email, and in person. Assist with addressing resident concerns, lease violations, and landlord-tenant matters in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Conduct routine property inspections and assist with maintaining the property's overall appearance and condition. Coordinate maintenance requests and follow up to ensure work is completed appropriately and timely. Maintain accurate records, data entry, filing, correspondence, and other administrative functions. Assist the Property Manager with day-to-day property operations and special projects as needed. Maintain compliance with Fair Housing requirements, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Qualifications & Experience Previous experience in residential property management, preferably with LIHTC and/or affordable housing. Working knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8, and Fair Housing requirements. Understanding of landlord-tenant laws and the ability to appropriately handle resident concerns and conflicts. Experience with Yardi, RentCafe, and/or Blue Moon preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when handling compliance documentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional and courteous customer service skills, including the ability to effectively handle difficult or sensitive situations. Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and follow established policies and procedures. Previous experience coordinating property maintenance or facilities-related matters is a plus. Why join our team?
