- contacting family, friends, employers, and neighbors of the fugitives they are attempting to locate; Respond immediately to tips about the location of fugitives and therefore is expected to respond to the field with minimal delay; Conduct searches per state statute and case law; Conduct surveillance activities on certain high risk /high profile fugitive cases; Make arrests and transports fugitives to local county jails and/or correctional facilities; Serve as a liaison with federal, state, and municipal law enforcement agencies by coordinating law enforcement/investigative efforts; Determine when probable cause exists to file criminal charges by gathering evidence to obtain arrest warrant; File criminal charges on inmates and parolees who abscond from the custody of the Department of Corrections; Respond to incidents, emergencies which may/could include assisting agency personnel in emergency situations; Maintain proficiency in the use of firearms, arrest control techniques, CPR, and first aid.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree. (Applicants must upload a copy of your unofficial college transcripts that include your name, college name, degree and date conferred with your application, in order to receive credit).- OR•A combination of coursework and professional work experience in criminal justice, corrections, social work, counseling, equal to four (4) years.

Applicants MUST possess and maintain a current and valid Colorado P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standards Training) certification.NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
: Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid and unrestricted driver's license, and have no felony convictions or domestic violence history. There is no substitution for the Colorado POST Certification requirements as listed above. Only applicants who meet the minimum and special qualifications for the vacancy will be included in the comparative analysis process. Any work experience less than full time will be prorated. Experience must be clearly described, in your own words, within the work experience section of your application to meet this requirement. Experience of law enforcement fugitive apprehension operations; Experience with fugitive investigative computer programs and databases; Experience developing tactical operational plans; Experience conducting static and mobile surveillance; Current or prior Top Secret federal clearance; Current CDOC instructor as sanctioned by the CDOC Corrections Training Academy; Current CDOC credentialled rifle, shotgun and/or less lethal (37mm or 40mm) user.IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Colorado Revised Statutes require that state employees are hired and promoted through a comparative analysis which may include, but is not limited to, a suitability screening, eSkills Assessment, oral assessment, written performance assessment or it may include a review of your application material and your responses to any supplemental questions by a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assess and rank applicants in order to establish an eligible list for referral to the hiring manager for final consideration.
