Definition of Position:
The Residential Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and clinical components of a designated residential program(s) under the direction of the Director of Residential Services.
Responsibilities and Duties General Responsibilities:
Oversees the residents' efforts to plan and carry out the daily scheduled routine, social/recreational activities and events, etc. Oversees the residents' efforts to meet the various demands of daily living including meeting basic health and medical/nutritional needs, attends to the areas of personal hygiene and general appearance, responsibly handles personal finances, maintains individual and shared living areas, pursues enriching leisure time activities, etc. Works with assigned Clinical Specialists to ensure the overall implementation and data tracking of all individuals' programs and protocols in a timely fashion. Ensures that the appropriate level and quality of supervision is provided for each individual at all times. Oversees the accurate and timely administration of individuals' medications and implements all doctors' orders in the home. Ensures that each resident is treated with respect and dignity at all times, with an emphasis on on-going supervision of staff interaction with individuals. Oversees all areas pertaining to individuals' nutritional needs including monitoring menus, special diets, meal preparation, food shopping, etc. Oversees the presence and participation of the individuals within the local community. Interviews and makes hiring recommendations for the position of Residential Coordinator and Residential Counselor. Is responsible for conducting orientation. Provides on-the-job training and coaching. Is responsible for ensuring that all employees receive the required/mandatory trainings/certifications. Ensures that all employees maintain required trainings/certifications. Provides on-going, documented supervision for each house staff member through individual staff meetings, periodic group staff members, individual performance evaluations, etc. Communicates regularly with all staff members regarding all relevant aspects of the group home/supported living program, with special attention to health, safety, and emergency needs. Coordinates the use of volunteers, substitute staff, and agency consultants within the house. Oversees a timely individual staff evaluation process with regard to all staff in the house on an on-going basis. Oversees the adequate staff coverage is provided at all times, including submitting staff schedules in advance. Facilitates on-going assessment, problem-solving, and delegates' responsibilities in response to the challenges that arise in day-to-day lie within the home. Works with the Director of Human Resources to understand and follow the terms outlined in the Union contract. Supports all program shifts by making regular/frequent visits on all shifts, and interacting (asking for and providing feedback) with the individuals (staff members, individuals ARI serves, community members, etc.) who are important stakeholders with regard to this program. Maintains twenty-four hour responsibility for the overall operation of and quality of care provided at the home. Communicates regularly with the Director of Residential Services regarding all relevant aspects of the residential program, with special attention to health and safety needs. Reports all emergencies in a timely fashion to the Director of Residential Services when applicable. Represents ARI, Inc. and serves as a liaison to parents/family members of the individuals we provide services for, including taking proactive steps to develop healthy, productive relationships with parents/family members. Completes/oversees accurate completion of all documentation required by state regulations and agency policies and procedures in a timely fashion. Oversees that the house, vehicle, and any equipment are clean, well maintained, and in a state of good repair, with an eye toward the health and safety of the staff and residents, and overall house security. Addresses the maintenance/repair needs of the house and vehicle in a timely manner with an eye towards financial constraints. Works with the Director or Residential Services in preparing for all relevant external inspections and audits, and facilitates the development of needed plans of correction. Assists in the planning, implementation, and adherence to the overall program budget. Represents ARI, Inc. and serves as a liaison to both the professional (including resident's day programs, other public and private service providers, etc.) and local non-professional communities. Oversees the resident and house petty cash systems and ensuring overall accountability for these areas. Participates in the agency on-call system Oversees that the home is well-stocked with food and general house supplies at all times. Provides emergency response training for both the staff and residents, with a focus on ensuring fire drills are implemented at required intervals. Attending and actively participating in scheduled staff and/or administrative meetings. Is knowledgeable of, and implements/supervises the implementation of all applicable agency policies and procedures. Models responsiveness in an emergency situation to work his/her scheduled hours at a site other than his/her residence as needed. Maintains the highest standards of confidentiality regarding information about the residents, the residents' significant others, staff members at ARI, Inc. proprietary agency information, etc.
