Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful teaching opportunity supporting middle school students with emotional disabilities and moderate-to-severe learning needs in a therapeutic, substantially separate classroom setting. This full-time contract role offers you the chance to make a difference while working alongside a dedicated team of professionals, including BCBAs and RBTs, in a supportive, low student-to-staff ratio environment.
Role Overview:
Deliver specialized academic instruction tailored to individual learning needs. Write and manage IEPs, conduct student assessments, and track progress. Provide guidance and oversight to RBTs and paraprofessionals in the classroom. Implement evidence-based academic and behavioral programming within an ABA framework. Collaborate closely with BCBAs, related service providers, families, and school staff to ensure a holistic and effective approach to student success.
What We're Looking For:
Valid MA educator license in Moderate or Severe Disabilities. Experience working in ABA-based or therapeutic classroom settings is preferred. Ability to support and engage students presenting with challenging behaviors. Skilled in IEP development, case management, and progress monitoring. Strong communicator with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
