Position Summary The Assistant Property Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the community — from leasing and resident relations to rent collection and office administration. This role blends sales, customer service, and light bookkeeping to keep the property running smoothly and residents satisfied. Responsibilities Greet and qualify prospective residents, guide them through the application process, and close leases Show available apartment homes and support move-ins, including paperwork, signatures, and community orientation Collect rent and ancillary fees, post income and deposits, and manage collections on delinquent accounts Track lease renewals and move-outs, apply fees as needed, and keep property management software current Inspect apartment homes following move-out and coordinate turnover Respond promptly to resident questions, concerns, and service requests to support satisfaction and retention Provide general office management and administrative support Assist with market research, outreach marketing, and maintaining the property's social media presence Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred 1-3 years of experience in leasing, sales, hospitality, or customer service Bookkeeping skills or related experience a plus Strong collections and follow-up skills Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite and property management software Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally climb stairs Ability to read documents and computer screens, and to hear and understand verbal communication in person and by phone Occasional lifting/carrying of up to 20 lbs (files, supplies) Some outdoor exposure and time in varied conditions on site Flexible schedule required, including evenings and weekends as business needs dictate Benefits We believe talented people are drawn to organizations that offer competitive pay, strong benefits, and real advancement opportunities.
