The Program Coordinator advances student belonging and holistic success by coordinating programs, services, and engagement opportunities that support all students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This position helps cultivate welcoming spaces and campus-wide connections where students can access resources, build supportive relationships, and participate in meaningful community experiences. Through intentional programming, partnership development, and student-centered engagement, the Program Coordinator strengthens inclusive excellence and contributes to a campus climate where all students can thrive.

The Program Coordinator will:

Support the development of a campus-wide culture of belonging. Facilitate and support programming efforts, including affinity-based communities, dialogue spaces, and mobile engagement opportunities that promote identity exploration, connection, and belonging. Coordinate and implement embedded gender and sexuality engagement initiatives across campus including; student spaces, and campus environments to increase access, visibility, and impact. Serve as a key partner with Residence Life and campus collaborators, supporting the integration of identity-affirming practices within daily student environments. Assist with training initiatives for student-facing staff (e.g., Resident Assistants, desk staff, and student leaders). Contribute to outreach and engagement strategies that expand participation and reduce barriers to access for students across varying stages of identity development. Assist in building and maintaining internal and external partnerships that enhance student engagement, community connection, and holistic support.

Experience developing, implementing, and assessing student-centered programs or initiatives. Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with students, student organizations, campus partners, alumni, and community stakeholders. Previous experience coordinating programs, events, workshops, and community-building opportunities. Basic knowledge of student development, identity-based support, campus engagement, or community-building practices. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Higher Education, Sociology, Educational Psychology/Psychology, Leadership, Program Management/Administration or related field. Experience working with student organizations, peer leaders, or student-led initiatives. Experience supporting programs or services related to belonging, identity development, or student community-building. Experience working through collaborative or embedded service models across campus environments. Experience generating external funding sources (fundraising, grants, etc.). Experience developing and implementing workshops, programs, and services related to gender and sexuality. Previous experience developing and implementing comprehensive communication and outreach plans. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
