Manages property and services on behalf of a community association, for properties such as condominiums or cooperatives. Collects fees or dues, responds to requests or complaints, supervises maintenance, oversees work done by contractors, and provides accounting of income and expenses. May also assist owners or a board of directors with regulatory compliance or compliance with community association rules. Manages the operation of commercial or residential properties. Oversees the collection of rents and payment of bills, taxes and insurance for properties, and provides property owners with reports on finances and the status of properties. Directs leasing operations, or equipment and machinery rentals, for a company or business. Determines charges and prepares rental or lease agreements; supervises inventory, equipment maintenance and recordkeeping for leasing operations.

Here at PEEK Properties, we are looking for a Property Manager that is self-motivated, powered by success and long-term goals for themselves in a growing company. As a Property Manager, you will report directly to our Director Property Management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage resident accounts, including rent processing, lease administration, renewals, resident ledgers, data entry, and resident communications. Monitor rent collection and resident account balances and follow up on outstanding amounts in accordance with company policies. Work closely with the leasing department to monitor current and upcoming vacancies and review rental applications for accuracy and completeness. Coordinate move-in and move-out procedures with residents, the Director of Property Management, leasing, maintenance, and accounting teams. Assist with security deposit tracking, resident security deposit accounts, and related documentation. Enter, organize, and manage property-related bills for accounting purposes; experience with accrual accounting is preferred. Collaborate closely with the maintenance team through regular meetings, work-order coordination, follow-up, and daily operational support to ensure timely, high-quality service for residents. Conduct routine property inspections and walkthroughs to identify maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and operational concerns. Communicate and coordinate with the City of East Orange regarding lease renewals, Annual Rent Roll applications, Rent Decontrol Applications, Certificates of Occupancy (COO), and other property-related compliance requirements. Manage, document, and track the monthly eviction process in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements. Maintain accurate property records, resident files, notices, and supporting documentation. Provide professional and responsive customer service while addressing resident questions, concerns, and account matters. Work collaboratively with management, accounting, leasing, and maintenance departments to support the overall operational and financial performance of the portfolio. Qualifications & Requirements Previous experience in property management, real estate administration, or multifamily housing is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of New Jersey landlord-tenant requirements, Fair Housing laws, and Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher programs is preferred. Experience with property management software such as Buildium or a comparable platform. Strong organizational and administrative skills, including experience with data entry, recordkeeping, filing systems, and office operations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with professional phone etiquette and strong conflict-resolution abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and resident matters efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial and resident records. Experience with leasing, rent collection, customer service, and facilities or maintenance coordination is a plus. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments. Self-motivated, dependable, and results-oriented with an interest in long-term professional growth.
