Description Position Overview We're seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Property Management Assistant to support the daily operations of an affordable housing community. This role partners closely with Property Managers, residents, vendors, and community stakeholders to help ensure compliance, resident satisfaction, and efficient property operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a mission-driven environment and enjoys building positive relationships with residents while supporting leasing administration, recertifications, occupancy compliance, maintenance coordination, and general office operations. Experience working in affordable housing, multifamily housing, or housing-related programs is preferred. Day-to-Day Responsibilities + Serve as a primary point of contact for current and prospective residents. + Respond to resident inquiries regarding leases, maintenance requests, rent payments, and community policies. + Assist residents with completing required forms and housing documentation. + Support move-in, move-out, transfer, and lease renewal processes. + Assist with resident file maintenance and compliance documentation. + Support annual and interim recertifications for residents. + Collect, review, and organize income and eligibility documentation. + Help ensure compliance with LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, tax credit, and other affordable housing program requirements, as applicable. + Maintain accurate resident records and occupancy reports. + Prepare lease documents, notices, correspondence, and resident communications. + Enter and maintain resident information within property management software. + Assist with waitlist management and applicant tracking. + Support audits, inspections, and file reviews. + Process invoices, vendor paperwork, and administrative documentation. + Receive and track maintenance requests. + Coordinate work orders with maintenance staff and outside vendors. + Assist with rent collection communications and resident account inquiries. + Prepare reports related to occupancy, renewals, recertifications, and delinquency. + Assist with tracking vacancies and leasing activity. Requirements + Experience in affordable housing, multifamily housing, public housing, or supportive housing environments. + Exposure to LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, Tax Credit, HOME, or other affordable housing programs. + Experience assisting with recertifications and compliance documentation. + Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations and housing compliance requirements. + Bilingual skills (Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, or other community languages) are a plus.
