We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as Director of Habilitation & Respite Services. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Oversight Provide strategic and operational leadership across all program areas Supervise and mentor program supervisors and staff Establish and monitor program goals, outcomes, and quality standards Conduct program reviews and site visits to ensure service excellence Promote person-centered practices that support dignity, choice, and independence Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, Medicaid Waiver requirements, and applicable laws Maintain and communicate up-to-date regulatory knowledge Oversee audits, surveys, and corrective action plans Ensure accurate, timely documentation and reporting Monitor Justice Center compliance and incident reporting requirements Financial & Operational Management Partner with Finance to develop and manage program budgets Ensure financial sustainability through effective planning and billing oversight Review financial performance and implement improvements as needed Oversee Medicaid and eMedNY billing compliance Identify opportunities for program growth and innovation Program Oversight Ensure habilitation services focus on individualized skill development and measurable outcomes Oversee respite services to support families while maintaining quality care Lead Select FSS and Recreation programs with a focus on inclusion and community integration Human Resources & Staff Development Collaborate with HR on recruitment, onboarding, and retention Ensure staff meet training and compliance requirements Conduct performance evaluations and support supervisor development Model leadership that promotes integrity, equity, and inclusion Stakeholder & Community Engagement Serve as liaison to OPWDD, LGUs, and community partners Build relationships with individuals served, families, and advocates Participate in committees and system-wide initiatives Address concerns professionally and responsivelyQUALIFICATIONS
Education Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field required. Experience Minimum of five (5) or more years of supervisory experience in OPWDD-based services. Experience overseeing Traditional Community Habilitation, Respite, Recreation, and/or Family Support Services programs preferred. Proven track record in regulatory compliance and team leadership within OPWDD-funded programs. Ability to travel to various locations, including family homes, as required by program oversight responsibilities. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of OPWDD regulations, Medicaid Waiver programs, and applicable federal and state laws. Strong leadership, supervisory, and organizational development skills. Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze complex data, financial reports, and regulatory requirements to drive informed decision-making. Commitment to person-centered planning, self-determination, and human rights principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records or program management systemsWORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regular travel to program sites, family homes, community locations, and agency meetings required Must have a valid NYS Driver's License and reliable transportation.
