A Fiscal Director or Budget Director manages the budget and finance department of government agencies or cities. They manage the operations of the budget and finance department; including leading analysts and staff. They review and make recommendations on budget requests and options in terms of policy, programs and objectives for the agency or city while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and statutes. They are responsible for the accumulation of data to support the development of financial analysis and budgeting, including the preparation of quarterly, monthly and annual financial performance measures.

Job Description

Responsible for fiscal and administrative support of assigned areas within Facilities Services & Hospitality Division. Provides budget administration and support for assigned operating budgets. Monitors expenditures, maintains records, and produces quarterly, annual and special reports. Compiles statistics, analyzes data, and issues documents to correct errors. Oversees third-party vendor agreements and accounts. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferably in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field. Three (3) years of budget, accounting, or finance experience. Related work experience may be substituted for educational requirement. One (1) year of related work experience can be substituted for one (1) year of education. For example, a candidate with a high school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent and seven (7) years of experience can be eligible to apply. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in business administration, accounting or related field. Experience working in a higher education budget or accounting setting. Experience working with enterprise resource planning software i.e., PeopleSoft finance module and procurement systems Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Ability to exercise good judgment involving fiscal operations. Effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and decision-making abilities. Detail-oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, and analyze and organize information. Skilled in project management, financial planning, problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence and persuasion. Excellent interpersonal skills and have a "Customer Focus" attitude and delivery. Ability to maintain confidentiality on a wide range of issues. Possess negotiation and conflict resolution skills to address issues and opportunities for improvement. Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations. Ability to work in cooperation with other team members to achieve Cleveland State University (CSU) goals and objectives. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel (advanced knowledge), Outlook, and PowerPoint. Requisition Number
