Project Manager Position Summary The Purchasing, Shipping & Receiving Assistant is responsible for overseeing procurement, inbound receiving, outbound shipping, and inventory control operations. This role ensures accurate and timely flow of materials to support manufacturing, maintains inventory integrity, and drives efficient logistics processes in alignment with production schedules and customer delivery commitments. Key Responsibilities Purchasing & Supplier Coordination Execute and oversee purchasing activities for raw materials for workholding, maintenance and production supplies Issue and manage purchase orders based on MRP, production demand, and inventory levels Track open orders and ensure on-time supplier delivery Communicate with suppliers to resolve shortages, delays, or quality concerns Support sourcing efforts, cost controls, and vendor performance improvement Work with vendors on cost savings as necessary Receiving Operations Supervise all inbound shipments including inspection, verification, and system entry Ensure materials are received accurately against purchase orders and packing slips Coordinate with Quality for inspection of incoming materials as required Resolve discrepancies (damage, shortages, incorrect shipments) Maintain accurate system transactions and documentation Shipping & Logistics Oversee packaging, staging, and shipment of finished goods and components, domestic and international Ensure customer orders are shipped complete, on time, and in compliance with requirements Coordinate carriers, freight schedules, and shipment documentation (UPS, Fedex, LTL) Maintain shipping records, bills of lading, and tracking information Address expedited orders and shipping issues to meet customer commitments Inventory Control & Material Flow Maintain accurate inventory levels and system data integrity (M2M) Coordinate physical inventory with employees responsible Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment actions Ensure proper storage, labeling, and traceability of materials Conduct cycle counts and support inventory audits Optimize material flow from receiving through production to shipping Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with production, planning, engineering, and sales teams Ensure materials are available to meet production schedules Communicate supply risks, delays, or shipping issues proactively Support continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain and logistics processes Quality, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and procedures Enforce safety practices in material handling, shipping, and receiving areas Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready environment Support internal and external audits related to procurement and logistics Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred (Supply Chain, Business, or related field) 2-4+ years of experience in purchasing, warehouse, or logistics environment Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of purchasing, shipping, and receiving processes Experience in manufacturing or machining environment preferred Proficiency with ERP systems (M2M) Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Effective communication and organizational skills High attention to detail and accuracy Physical Requirements Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Exposure to material handling equipment and industrial conditions (PPE required)
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
