Purchasing Manager Job Summary:
The Junior Buyer is responsible for assisting in the procurement of goods and services to meet the company's operational needs. This role involves supporting the purchasing team, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data. Communicate with suppliers to obtain product information, pricing, and availability. Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to manage stock. Resolve issues related to order discrepancies, returns, and damaged goods. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and cost-saving opportunities. Support the Purchasing Manager in negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers. Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Business or related field preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience in purchasing or a related role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
