Job Description

Scheduling Coordinator Breez Dental Surprise, AZ Job Details Full-time $18
  • $22 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off Parental leave Vision insurance 401(k) matching Employee discount Retirement plan Qualifications Dental assisting English Dental office experience Full Job Description Scheduling Coordinator
  • We'll Train You | Half-Day Fridays | Full Benefits You knew the schedule was broken before 8:15 this morning.
Did anyone ask you? You saw it during huddle. The 10:40 wasn't going to hold, the doctor was already behind from yesterday's emergency, and the crown seat at 2:00 got blocked for forty minutes when it honestly needs sixty. You knew. You've known for a couple of years now. Nobody asked. That's the quiet part of assisting that never shows up in a job description: you understand how the day actually works better than almost anyone in the building, and your role doesn't include a single thing you're allowed to do about it. You've been treated as a pair of hands long after you became something more than that. If you've ever thought I could fix half of this from the front
  • you're right.
And we'd genuinely love to talk with you. That instinct isn't a side skill. Around here, it's the whole job. You can look at a schedule and know it's wrong before anyone else in the building does. You know what a crown seat actually takes versus what got blocked for it. You can tell a patient is nervous before they say a word. That instinct is the part no training manual can give someone
  • and it's what separates a genuinely great front office from a receptionist.
The rest, we'll teach you. Insurance verification, scheduling strategy, practice management software, the financial conversations. All of it is learnable, and we'll sit with you until it clicks. We're not looking for someone who's already done this job. We're looking for someone we can help become excellent at it. We're Breez Dental, and we'd love to introduce ourselves. We're a family-owned, award-winning general dentistry practice in Surprise. Here's specifically what we think makes this worth your time: Our practice is built on quality over quantity. That's not just something we put on the wall. It's why you'll never be asked to force a patient into a slot that doesn't exist, and never have to apologize for an appointment that got rushed. We try to meet patients wherever they are in their dental journey, and the schedule is built to let that happen. Please go look us up before you apply
  • we're a little proud of this one.
Over 680 Google reviews at a 4.9 average. Honestly, that number matters more to you than it does to us: it means the person on the other end of the line usually already likes us. You'd spend your day talking with people who are glad to be here, not people bracing for a fight about a bill. You'd get to work with real technology. Fully digital office, 3D cone beam CT, iTero intraoral scanner. If you've been assisting somewhere with paper charts and film, you already know what a difference that makes to your day. And you're out the door at noon on Friday. Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. No nights, no weekends. Let's talk about money honestly. $18
  • 22/hour depending on experience, plus a monthly performance bonus worth up to another $2/hour once you're up to speed
  • an effective $20
  • 24/hour.
If you're already an experienced assistant, that's likely a lateral move on paper, and we'd rather say that out loud now than have you feel misled later. What changes isn't really the number on your check. It's your body, your ceiling, and where you are in five years. Here at Breez Dental, you'd have full benefits: medical, vision, PTO and paid holidays, 401(k) with matching, parental leave, and an employee discount. Dental care is included as an employee benefit. And we're growing. We're expanding operatories and we're expanding our team. Twelve of us today, and we expect to pass fifteen within a year. Whoever takes this seat isn't just taking a desk
  • they're taking the first chair in a front office that's about to get bigger, with a real path toward treatment coordination and leadership as we grow.
A few things we'd rather be upfront about. We're flexible on a lot of things. Standards are the one place we're not, and we'd rather you know that going in. Onboarding here is structured and training-heavy. Nobody is going to hand you a headset and wish you luck. You'll be walked through our technology, our systems, and how we like patients cared for, because getting it right matters more to us than getting it fast. If you've never touched the front office side, that's completely expected
  • asking questions is the norm here, not a mark against you. Eventually, you'd own three numbers: Schedule Utilization Rate, Recall Rate, and Hygiene Pre-appointment Rate. We track them, we sit down and go through them with you, and your bonus is tied to them. You won't be measured against any of that on day one
  • your first ninety days are measured on training milestones instead, so you have room to actually learn.
That said, if being measured at all makes you uneasy, this probably isn't the right seat. If you like watching your work show up as a number that moves, we think you'll enjoy it here. One honest note about
Fridays:
we currently close at noon. As the practice grows, Friday hours may expand. If you need a guaranteed hard stop at noon every Friday, we'd rather tell you now than have you find out in month four. People tend to thrive here when they're: Dependable
  • when you say it's handled, it's handled Honest, including about their own mistakes Genuinely warm with patients for a whole day, not just the first two hours Energized by a busy front desk rather than worn out by it Team-first, because a front office that keeps score doesn't work for anyone And in fairness, this might not be the right fit if: You'd prefer a quiet day with minimal patient interaction You'd rather be given direction than go looking for what needs doing You'd rather hand off a mistake than sit with it Drama tends to follow you None of those are character flaws•they're just a mismatch with this particular position, and we'd genuinely rather help you find the right one than have you spend six months in the wrong one.
What you'd actually be doing Owning the schedule
  • booking, confirming, and managing appointments so the day flows Being the first voice patients hear, with warmth and professionalism Coordinating provider schedules to keep the clinical team productive Filling cancellations and open time proactively rather than reactively Handling insurance verification and keeping records accurate
  • precision really matters here Managing check-in through check-out, including payments Keeping the front desk and reception area organized and welcoming Working shoulder-to-shoulder with the clinical team you already understand What we're hoping to find Chairside dental assisting experience, or strong customer-facing administrative experience in a dental office
  • either works No front office experience required.
We'll teach it. A clear, confident communicator on the phone, in person, and in writing Detail-oriented in a way you could point to: you proofread before you send, and you notice when something looks off Comfortable juggling several things at once without dropping any of them Familiarity with Open Dental, Dentrix, or similar is a nice bonus, not a requirement Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. A real person here reads every single application and resume, and we promise you'll hear back from us within two to five business days either way
  • even if it's a no.
We know how much it stinks to send an application into a void.
