In Person Pay:
$27.00 per hour To apply: complete our application form — link in the "How to Apply" section below. Applications through Indeed alone will not be reviewed.
Schedule:
Part-time to start (approx. 25 hours/week, weekday mornings) for the first 60-90 days during training, then converting to full-time (40 hours/week). Please apply only if full-time works for you — the part-time phase is a paid onboarding ramp, not the destination. About Power Meter City Founded in 2016, Power Meter City is your go-to source for power meters and related cycling gear. We started with a laser focus on offering the best selection of power meters, along with the knowledge and support needed to get the most out of them. Since then, we've expanded to include a wide range of bike components and accessories — but our commitment to expert service hasn't changed. We're a small, rider-run team that believes in fast support, honest answers, and helping cyclists (from beginner to elite) ride smarter and stronger. The Role The owner of Power Meter City currently handles everything that comes through the front door of this business — phone calls, emails, vendor issues, billing, website updates, and a hundred other things. Your job is to become his right hand: take first touch on the incoming flow, handle what you can, organize what you can't, and progressively take full ownership of recurring processes so they never need to hit his desk again. This is not a narrow, do-one-thing role. It's a do-everything role for someone who likes variety, learns fast, and takes initiative. The person who succeeds here will, within a year, own whole areas of this business's daily operations. What You'll Do Answer and triage incoming phone calls and emails — resolve what you can, route and summarize what you can't Assist with day-to-day finances: paying bills, reconciling charges, organizing invoices and statements Handle vendor and manufacturer correspondence and follow-ups Keep projects, tasks, and loose ends organized and moving Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) daily to draft, research, summarize, and solve problems A little bit of everything else — this role grows with the trust you earn Requirements 3+ years of professional work experience in an office or computer-based environment. This is not an entry-level role — we need someone who already knows how workplaces, teams, and professional communication work. AI fluency is required. You should already be using ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools regularly to get real work done. We will test this in the interview process.
Strong computer skills:
fast, accurate typing; comfortable in Excel and Google Sheets; solid with Word/Google Docs and email Excellent written communication — you'll be writing on behalf of the business daily Organized, reliable, and calm under a fast-changing to-do list Able to work on-site in Aliso Viejo Nice to Have (Not Required) Experience with e-commerce, retail operations, or bookkeeping Familiarity with WordPress or similar platforms Interest in cycling or outdoor sports Compensation & Benefits $27.00/hour (non-exempt hourly) Two weeks of paid vacation (accrued) Paid sick leave per California law Real growth: this role is designed to expand in scope and responsibility as the business grows Our Culture We move fast, work hard, and take pride in doing things right the first time. Everyone here is responsible for their own to-do list — but we back each other up, communicate clearly, and never let the details slide. And while we take the work seriously, we also make space to joke around and enjoy the ride — because cycling should be fun on and off the bike. -> How to Apply Applications are only accepted through our application form — it takes about 8 minutes: https://forms.gle/4eqYHHWKdFfr9V7y7 Resumes submitted through Indeed alone will not be reviewed. This is a detail-oriented role, and completing the form carefully is the first test.
