Professional Job Description:
The Department of French Studies at LSU is looking for an operations coordinator. This position serves as the liaison for the department's Director of Graduate Studies and current and prospective graduate students. This position supports the Director of Graduate Studies in the administration of the graduate program and manages the administrative services of the graduate program as well as assists with the daily business operations and administrative services of the department.Job Responsibilities :
40%- Manages the daily administrative services of the department's graduate program.
- Assists with the daily operations of the departmental central office to ensure efficiency, timeliness and accuracy.
- Updates the schedule of classes information each semester via Workday and College Net. Assists undergraduate & graduate students with class registration. Prepares departmental course description booklet each semester. Submits textbook orders and other course materials to the university bookstore, which requires mastery of the Adoption & Insights Portal (AIP
- a web-based platform for faculty and staff enabling them to research and adopt course materials in one place. Contacts publishers and requests desk copies as needed. 5%
- Supervise, hire, and train 5-10 student workers to perform various sub-professional tasks (handling phone calls, photocopying, greeting visitors, collection and distribution of mail, compiling spreadsheets, updating departmental website, assisting faculty and staff with myriad clerical and research needs) to ensure the daily operations of the central office. 5%
- Serves as a backup to the Senior Operations Coordinator during his or her absence. 5%
