Job Description

Job Summary A busy ASC looking for a Surgery Scheduler/Medical Assistant to help in the front desk, checking patients, surgery scheduling, answering phone calls, and helping CBO team with billing and collection related inquiries. In this vital role, you will coordinate with other surgery schedulers from various surgeon's surgical schedulers. You will support clinical operations and provide exceptional patient service. Your proactive approach and medical knowledge will ensure smooth workflows in a fast-paced ASC environment, contributing to positive patient outcomes and efficient clinic operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a collaborative healthcare setting dedicated to excellence. Responsibilities Schedule surgeries and procedures accurately, coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and ASC staff to optimize operating room utilization Assist ASC team by providing preoperative and postoperative instructions to patients, patient intake, including collecting vital signs, updating medical histories, and verifying insurance information Prepare patients for procedures by explaining preoperative instructions and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed Must have knowledge of HST (Scheduling software) Maintain detailed records of patient interactions, procedure details, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and other medical documentation Assist with imaging procedures like X-ray or other diagnostics as needed within outpatient or inpatient settings Provide exemplary patient service by addressing questions, coordinating follow-up appointments, and ensuring a welcoming environment for diverse patient populations including geriatrics, internal medicine, or emergency cases Requirements Previous experience using HST (scheduling software). Proven experience in a clinical setting such as Ambulatory Surgery Center, outpatient clinics, with familiarity in various specialties, i.e. ophthalmology, urology, GYN, General Surgeries, podiatry, pain management, GI, etc. Experience supporting outpatient surgery teams; familiarity with Level I Trauma Center protocols is preferred Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and service excellence in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or hospital settings Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in intake processes and documentation Join us to make a meaningful impact on patient journeys through organized scheduling and compassionate support. Pay:
$23.00 - $30.66 per hour
