SUMMARY:
Coordinates surgical procedures. Verifies and updates schedule as needed, and prepares paperwork as required.

(other duties may be assigned, deleted or changed at any time, at the discretion of management, formally, or informally, either verbally or in writing). 1. Answer phones on a daily basis. Must be able to handle several incoming lines and direct calls to appropriate individuals in a timely, professional manner. Hand delivers messages as necessary. 2. Obtain authorizations for needed surgeries and procedures. 3. Direct and assist patients at front reception window. 4. Schedule surgeries and procedures as requested by the medical offices. 5. Prepare daily surgery schedule and distribute to providers and other personnel as necessary. 6. Operate computer terminal to access data, enter data, and change or delete data as necessary, according to prescribed procedures for the department. 7. Perform special projects or tasks when requested by the Nursing Supervisor. Interact with all departmental personnel in a manner that promotes a "Team Effort" within the department. 8. Inventory and order medical supplies and material, as needed. 9. Coordinators with Vendors to ensure necessary equipment and appliance are available at time of surgery. 10. Coordinate DME and physical therapy as required post operatively.
