Richter Resources is seeking a motivated and technically curious Junior NOC Specialist to support the monitoring and operation of broadband networks, including fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and fixed wireless access (FWA). This is an entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build hands-on experience in network operations, troubleshooting, fiber, wireless technologies, and service assurance. What You'll Do Monitor network performance, alarms, outages, and connectivity using network monitoring tools. Investigate and troubleshoot basic network and service issues, including connectivity, latency, packet loss, equipment, and configuration problems. Support troubleshooting of FTTH systems, including OLTs, ONTs, PON interfaces, optical levels, and customer-premises equipment. Support troubleshooting of FWA systems, including base stations, subscriber radios, signal quality, interference, and backhaul connectivity. Create, update, prioritize, and close trouble tickets while maintaining accurate documentation. Coordinate with field technicians, engineering teams, vendors, and service providers during troubleshooting and service restoration. Perform basic diagnostic testing using tools such as ping, traceroute, DNS lookup, and speed testing. Monitor vendor and carrier tickets through resolution. Assist with network provisioning, service activation, maintenance, equipment replacements, and upgrades. Escalate major incidents, widespread outages, security events, and other issues according to established procedures. Participate in training and progressively take on more advanced troubleshooting responsibilities. Qualifications Associate degree, technical certification, military technical training, or equivalent practical experience in networking, telecommunications, IT, or a related field. Basic understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing, switching, and subnetting . Familiarity with broadband, telecommunications, fiber-optic, or wireless network concepts. Experience with or exposure to network monitoring, ticketing, or remote-access tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Ability to stay organized and effective during outages and other high-pressure situations. Ability to follow established procedures and appropriately escalate issues. Willingness to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as required . Authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a NOC, ISP, telecommunications, managed services, help desk, or network support environment. Familiarity with GPON, XGS-PON, OLTs, ONTs, and optical power measurements . Familiarity with fixed wireless, Tarana, CBRS, access points, base stations, subscriber radios, antennas, or RF measurements . Experience with network monitoring and ticketing platforms. Exposure to routers, switches, firewalls, carrier circuits, or network transport equipment. Familiarity with Linux or Windows command-line diagnostic tools.
