Our METRC Specialist is responsible for ensuring that cannabis processing, manufacturing, or cultivation operations comply with the Michigan Marijuana Enforcement Tracking Reporting Compliance (METRC) system and state regulations. The role blends operational oversight with compliance tracking.
Core Responsibilities :
METRC System Management :
Maintain a thorough understanding of the METRC system and ensure all production activities—such as manufacturing, packaging, and distribution—are recorded accurately and in compliance with state rules.
Data Entry & Tracking :
Accurately enter and update METRC records for all cannabis products, including creation, movement, and sale. This includes tagging plants, harvests, and packages, and recording inventory changes.
Inventory Audits :
Regularly reconcile METRC records with physical inventory to detect and correct discrepancies promptly.
Reporting :
Prepare and submit required regulatory reports to state agencies, ensuring all documentation is up to date and accessible for audits.
Regulatory Compliance :
Stay current on evolving cannabis laws and adjust processes to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Collaboration :
Work with compliance, production, and other teams to ensure adherence to cannabis industry laws and best practices.
Training & Support :
Provide guidance to production staff on METRC procedures, compliance requirements, and safety standards.
Quality & Safety :

Operational & Compliance Skills Needed :
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Experience with METRC reporting and compliance in the cannabis industry.
