Your craft keeps furnaces running, auxiliary systems synchronized, and uptime steady. With a focus on reliability, you champion a rigorous Preventive Maintenance System while tackling hands-on troubleshooting with support from experienced leads. Your impact Own preventive and predictive maintenance across furnaces, secondary equipment, and facility structures. Diagnose and repair equipment issues with supervision, recording actions and results. Apply cross-functional skills—electrical, mechanical, welding, and pipefitting—to keep assets in spec. Model safe work practices through training, proper lockout, and confined space compliance. Where you fit in the team Supervisory duties: none—unless assigned to the maintenance department. What sets you up for success General maintenance proficiency; industrial maintenance familiarity is advantageous. Blueprint/print reading and the ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures; complete Maintenance Request Forms accurately. Math fluency with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Practical reasoning to execute written, oral, or diagram-based instructions. Background we prefer High school diploma or GED preferred (not mandatory). One to three months of relevant experience and/or training preferred; equivalent combinations welcome. Development is continuous—additional training needs may be identified through employee appraisals. Credentials you carry Hi-lo (forklift) license. Confined Space permits and/or training. Readiness to learn Complete the client's course on confined space and lockout. Physical reality of the work Frequent reaching with hands and arms; occasional climbing or balancing; and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in confined spaces. You will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Environment you'll operate in Frequent proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to extreme heat & open flames. At times, work occurs in high, precarious places. Overall noise is usually moderate.
