As soon as the right candidate is identified Position Overview A busy entrepreneurial family with three children is seeking an experienced House Manager and Family Operations Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of two nearby residences in Queens. This role focuses on household projects, maintenance coordination, vendors, household staff, vehicles, pets, events, and seasonal support for the family's boat. The family currently employs a full-time nanny and a full-time housekeeper. The House Manager will coordinate the housekeeper's household priorities and work collaboratively with the family's long-term nanny. This is not primarily a childcare, housekeeping, or maintenance position. The ideal candidate takes genuine ownership of household operations, communicates proactively, exercises sound judgment, maintains discretion, and follows projects through to completion without requiring frequent reminders. Key Responsibilities Household Operations and Projects Conduct regular walkthroughs of both homes and maintain a prioritized list of maintenance, organization, repair, and supply needs Research, schedule, and coordinate vendors, contractors, movers, installers, and service providers Manage household projects from planning through final setup and completion Coordinate appliance repairs, replacements, and other household services Maintain recurring maintenance schedules, vendor information, warranties, estimates, invoices, and payment status Coordinate seasonal services, holiday preparation, deliveries, returns, and household errands Manage an upcoming bedroom reconfiguration project, including movers, packing, furniture placement, deliveries, room setup, and final completion Staff and Family Support Coordinate the full-time housekeeper's priorities and monitor completion and quality Work collaboratively with the family's long-term nanny while respecting established childcare responsibilities Assist with family and work events, holiday preparation, travel packing, and special projects Maintain household schedules and provide concise, proactive updates Coordinate approved backup household support when needed Vehicles, Boat, and Pets Coordinate vehicle maintenance, inspections, repairs, detailing, and cleaning From March through November, coordinate professional service, upkeep, cleaning, supplies, and seasonal readiness for the family's 34-foot boat Assist with the care of a large, people-friendly dog Coordinate with the existing service provider responsible for the family's saltwater aquarium Be comfortable working in a household with additional pets Requirements At least 3 years of paid professional experience in a private household as a House Manager, Family Assistant, Estate Assistant, Personal Assistant, or substantially similar position Demonstrated experience independently coordinating household projects, vendors, repairs, and schedules Experience working in a professional private-household environment Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle Ability to work onsite at both Queens residences Monday through Friday Comfort working around household pets, including a large dog Authorization to work in the United States Preferred Qualifications Experience managing operations across multiple residences Experience coordinating or supervising household employees Experience overseeing household improvement, organization, or relocation projects Experience supporting entrepreneurs, executives, or other busy households Strong organizational, communication, and project-management skills Compensation and Benefits $45-$55 per hour , based on experience Approximately 25-30 hours per week W-2 employment through payroll Health insurance eligibility after three months Household payment card for approved purchases Reimbursement for approved work-related mileage Paid sick leave and other benefits in accordance with applicable law Occasional evening or weekend hours may be requested with advance notice and will be paid Paid time off and holiday policies will be outlined as part of the employment terms How to Apply Please submit a current résumé or CV highlighting your private-household management experience .
