We are hiring an Estimation Operations Specialist to take full ownership of our estimating process and help us scale.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a dynamic and detailed oriented Estimation Operations Specialist to lead our construction cost estimation efforts. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development of accurate project estimates, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. Your expertise will drive project planning, support bidding strategies, and facilitate effective communication with clients and internal teams.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Read builder construction plans and complete accurate square-footage takeoffs Own our builder bid inbox, from incoming request to finished proposal Write up detailed estimates and proposals from our field estimators' in-home visits Look up material pricing and build each estimate to fit the job, including installation, refinishing, stairs, repairs, and more Calculate and enter accurate pricing based on the scope of each project Complete job-cost numbers and maintain accurate project costing information Review estimates for accuracy and make sure measurements, materials, labor, and pricing are accounted for Keep estimates and proposals moving so homeowners and builders receive fast turnaround Communicate with the owner and our estimators when additional project information or clarification is needed Work side by side with the owner and our estimating team while growing into greater ownership of the estimating and pricing process Track department KPIs weekly
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Required Ability to read construction plans and perform square-footage takeoffs Experience writing estimates or proposals for a construction, flooring, or trade company.
Minimum:
2 years experience Strong math skills and a sharp eye for detail Comfortable working with measurements, quantities, pricing, and project costs Ability to maintain accuracy while managing a high volume of work Comfortable learning new software and systems Strong organization and time-management skills
